Can you believe it? This plate of roasted meat rice costs $6.50

STOMPer 2012 felt that for the price tag of $6.50, this plate of roasted meat rice from the Katong outlet of Hong Kong Cafe was a rip-off.

The STOMPer said:

"I was at the Hong Kong cafe outlet at Katong at about 8pm on the 4th of February.

"I ordered a plate of roasted meat rice, which costs $6.50.

"But when the food arrived, I found that the portion of meat was too little.

"And I was also informed by the waitress afterwards that if I ordered roasted meat, I could get about 12 pieces for $8.

"If I ordered the roasted meat rice meal, it would contain a portion of rice with six to eight pieces of meat, and it would cost $6.50.

"For $6.50, I could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere.

Definitely a rip off !!!! Restaurant owners can charge additional for GST , service charge, environment etc not tasty nvm but the basic quantity factor has to be there ???

if u go to Katong Hong Kong Cafe and eat S$6.50 roasted meat rice u can b quite happy rite cos the service is good and so on... on the other hand u go hawker centre down here even it cost S$1.50 u may not want to eat it cos the quality is no good u don like it...
