VivoCity: Barricades necessary for crowd control during festive period

A spokesperson for VivoCity has clarified that these rows of barricades at the monorail station were to manage crowds over the Chinese New Year holiday.

In an earlier article, STOMPer RollingInTheDeeth had questioned the need for the barricades as there were hardly any people queuing up there.

Said the STOMPer:

"We would like to thank STOMPer RollingInTheDeeth for the feedback on the barricades set up for crowd control at the Sentosa Express station at VivoCity.

"During this Chinese New Year festive period, the Sentosa Flower Show and the attractions in Resorts World Sentosa are very popular among locals and tourists.

"The barricades were set up to manage the heavy crowd to Sentosa from VivoCity via the Sentosa Express. There were also security officers to guide and direct them.

"Such precautionary measures are necessary to ensure proper crowd control as well as for the safety of all our visitors.

"We are pleased that these measures have worked well for the visitors to Sentosa and VivoCity."
