14-year-old Amos Yee first mocked Chinese New Year in a video. Then he said it was an 'intelligent joke'. STOMPer Daryl says the teenager now boasts on facebook about being on STOMP.
Said Daryl:
"Singaporean kid who called CNY a 'rip-off' says it is his honour to be in STOMP for the most number of times.
"The teenager has attracted flak from netizens for mocking the Chinese New Year as a 'senseless' rehash of New Year's Day in a video posted online.
"In the latest offering on his video channel, Amos Yee questioned the existence of Chinese New Year before poking fun at the Chinese Zodiac through a skit which implied that the Chinese New Year is a rip-off of a Western tradition.
"The video has gone viral and has since attracted over 700 comments, with the bulk of them critical of the teenager’s latest upload.
"And he has been in STOMP 2 times.
"And in his recent post on his facebook page , he says it's his honour to be on STOMP the most number of times.
"What is with our society nowadays? Especially the teens."
