MRT stuck at Somerset station due to train door fault, sent for repairs: SMRT

STOMPers experienced a train service disruption along the North South Line, at Somerset station on Jan 10. SMRT has since apologised for the delay, saying the train, which had a train door fault, was sent back to the depot for repairs.

Said the SMRT spokesperson in an email (Jan 12):

"On 10 January at 10.14am, a northbound train experienced a train door fault at Somerset MRT Station.

"Passengers were asked to alight and boarded the next train which arrived 1 minute later.

"The affected train was sent back to the depot for repairs.

"Station announcements were made to inform commuters of the delay. SMRT apologises for the inconvenience caused."

I believe the Minister for Transport, has much to do because the word "efficiency" in our world acclaimed World Class Public Transportation Infrastructural System, is becoming increasingly inefficient - while dishing out lame template reasons to the Paying Public Commuters for being so. Frankly, I believe we don't care about the "reasons". Fares were raised, incremental Taxes have been paid, living costs escalates infinitely, job market decimated, healthcare resulted in going to JB - so, ACTION is expected or Axe yourselves out.
