MRT disrupted yet again, leaving morning crowd stuck in Somerset station

STOMPer Kirbyzxc was on his way to work when he was delayed by a train service disruption along the North South Line.

This is the most recent in a series of incidents involving SMRT trains having problems that lead to a service disruption.

Said the STOMPer:

"Today, SMRT was facing problems yet again.

"I am rushing to work yet the train service has been disrupted.

"This is not the first time.

"SMRT has disappointed us by having so much problems.

"I hope they will keep they train service in order all the time.

"Because of this incident, Somerset MRT station packed with people early in the morning.

Another STOMPer, Rohaizad, also noticed water dripping from pipes in the ceiling of Bras Basah MRT Station.

He said:

"I was at Bras Basah MRT station when I saw water dripping from pipes in the ceiling.

"Pieces of cloth were used to cover the puddles that formed due to the leaks.

"This seem to take place frequently over multiple spots at Bras Basah MRT station.

"Has anyone looked into this issue?

"Does something terrible have to occur before the leaks get fixed?

@homelyman you sure taking bus will solve the problem? This was what happened on the date Somerset MRT broke. My bus 167 delayed so bad, when it came it was so crowded that I stood at the door, and it won't even close! it stinks so bad that I decided to drop and take MRT.
MRT on that day, took 2-3stops to reach a destination. 2-3 stop to reach 1 station you go figure. I was very late for work that day along with hundred others.

If terrorists want to attack Singapore they will aim at the mrt as they is no backup of breakdown in such cases

The new launched batch of MRT trains purchased from China (cheaper??) are much heavier than normal ones, will it cause problems to the rail tracks n structures of the MRT construction??

As Sinkagpore are now over-populated in our daily MRT train transports, will it be a serious problems after running for long?

Will the rails derail n building structures crack n tumble? Any guarantee for commuters that the MRT are still safe to take

MRT elite announced that if commuters avoid peak-hour traveling on MRT trains, the commuters will be given fares reductions! Sounds fishy!!

The problem with our MRT is like an old car that have not been given much maintainence for many year. The extensive wear and tear due to increase population from 2.5 million people when it was build by our Late President Mr. Ong to now about 6.5million.
Now the breakdown is a teething problem but the worst is that we still have not heard yet. The repair bill, when SMRT keep increase our fares, where does the money goes too? can they show us their yearly maintainence cost spend on the system? it must be from year 1 till now? Singaporean will most probably paid for such repair bill.
One question that bugs meet is that when Miss Saw resign? How much is she compensated. This is a goodwill payment to leaving CEO which can run to million? Should she be pay at all?
Lastly, she and the board must be bill any future repair bill as she is responsible or causing our World Class MRT to this stage.
