A STOMPer complained that letterboxes were left wide open at Woodlands. The letterboxes may have been broken into, said SingPost in a response, saying the postwoman had locked the letterboxes before leaving.
The SingPost spokesperson wrote in an email:
"We refer to the feedback by STOMPer buttons (STOMP, 31 December 2011).
"Upon receipt of feedback on the unlocked letterbox, we immediately sent our staff to rectify the matter.
"Our subsequent investigations reveal that our postwoman had locked the letterbox door upon completion of her delivery.
"We are investigating into the possibility of unauthorised access to the letterboxes and we will take appropriate follow-up action.
"We take a very serious view of the security and integrity of letterboxes.
"We thank STOMPer buttons for his feedback."
