STOMPer bumblerblee says her Christmas dinner at Orchard Central with her girlfriends was marred by the appearance of three uninvited 'guests'.
The STOMPer related the incident:
"It was supposed to be a joyous occasion where my girlfriends and I met up for Christmas dinner one weekday evening.
"We knew the more popular restaurants in Orchard Road would be packed with people so we decided to head for a less crowded restaurant at Orchard Central.
"The service and quality of food wasn’t too bad for five hungry people.
"When we were done with our food and chatting before we asked for the bill, I saw a small bug-like creature crawling on the empty chair in front of me, to my horror.
"On closer inspection, not one but two of the little moving insects were spotted. I told my friend to remove her bag from the chair, and to our surprise, we noticed THREE baby cockroaches infesting the empty chair.
"Keeping our cool despite the goose bumps, we notified the person in charge yet he calmly pushed the blame to the management of Orchard Central – claiming that there were too many restaurants on his floor and that it was not within their control to prevent something like this happening.
"We were freaked out, and when we asked for the bill, he offered a free glass of lime juice to each of us in apology.
"But seriously, who would want any consumables from the restaurant after such an encounter?
"I was surprised that such standards of hygiene actually exist in a restaurant in Orchard Road.
"Shouldn't it be their responsibility to keep the pests in control? Imagine if we had a sixth friend who was seated on the roach infested chair? It would have been a real 'Christmas gift' from the restaurant!"
