What Bugs Me
How come residents can park here, but other motorists are fined?

STOMPer rallycar felt that it was unfair that he was issued a parking summons while residents in the area were apparently not fined for parking illegally. One of the residents was even parking on the pavement.

The STOMPer wrote:

"This picture was taken at Westwood Drive, full of landed properties.

"To the best of my knowledge, the private property owners are supposed to park their cars inside their car porch.

"However they chose to park on the pavement.

"My car was parked at the side of the road not obstructing anyone.

"However, I was issued a parking summons from the LTA, which was issued by Certis Cisco.

"Technically, both me and the residents should have been issued the summons, but the resident's car was ignored by the wardens.

"Why is there an double standard?

"Is LTA giving an strong signal that if you have money you can park anywhere?

"Or is Certis Cisco is blind enough not to see other cars parked in such an manner?"

It's private estate, i guess that pavement belongs to the bungalow. As long as it is not obstructing the road for other people it's fine i think.

bro, i understand ur concern. wat u say is true. when u call police for illegal parking at westwood dr they will summon everyone who break the law. no such think as u stay there u can park there. the house is pte. but the road its gov. hope LTA will follow the same method also.

How does a parking warden know which car belongs to the resident living there and which car is not. Never think before posting.

Penguin, hello again. As you can see there is a middle line painted near the junction, the Stomper must have parked there. There is no line elsewhere so they cannot fine him even if they want to.

Dear Stomper: For locations such as this, you are most likely fined because one of the residents called LTA or TP and specified your vehicle number. That is how it seems to work in such locations. But I agree with you that it is not right, unless the authorities are saying the roads right outside a bungalow or Semi-D are not public ones.
