STOMPer Alexander was appalled when the driver of the bus he was on sped from one bus stop to another. He suspects the driver did so because he was behind schedule.
He says:
"I'm was one of the guys who have commended bus drivers for their excellent service. But today, a series of incidents spurred me to do the opposite!
"I waited for more than 25 minutes at Yishun interchange for an 811 loop service which became very packed after half the queue had boarded.
"This neighbourhood loop service could not promise the regularity of the service provided.
"Next, the bus driver, inspired by the F1 I suppose, was speeding from one bus stop to another!
"I believe that bus drivers have a basic estimation of the distance and time required between each stop, and the distance from the bus stop before the bus driver has to start braking, and of course the speed before entering the braking zone.
"If you want to speed, do it at the expense of your own life! Not with the lives of all the paying passengers of your bus!
"Upon alighting, I realized there was another 811 bus just right behind. And in a few minutes a third one arrived.
"So much for planning of bus routes."
