STOMPer Stressed, who lives in the Punggol East area, says he struggles to study when military aircraft cause huge amounts of noise taking off and landing from Paya Lebar Airbase.
The STOMPer wrote:
"I am a secondary 4 student living in Punggol East.
"Paya Lebar Airbase is a takeoff and landing zone for planes, but these planes are simply causing too much noise.
"SAF Training Planes, specifically the F15s and F16s, take off from the Airbase more than eight times in a day, in strings of four to eight.
"These planes are very noisy, with noise levels measuring over 140 decibels. Not only does it disrupt my studies, it also could causes damage to people's hearing.
"With such frequent training, I feel more like I am living on Pulau Tekong or some war zone instead.
"The SAF should really reduce the frequency of such training sessions or attempt to quieten the engines of such planes.
"Although it is vital to train pilots to defend our country, it also causes annoyance and harm when taken to excessive levels."

trust me, i am younger than you and i've been on a flight simulator, when u get enlisted you understand how hard flight training to protect the country is.
so stop complaining n go to a library to study or move house lor
Did the really meant that? That very noisy fighter jet is the one that will guard the entire country airspace should we come under attack. And he even got the guts to suggest to reduce the frequency of such training sessions? This is one spoilt brats.
Take it as few minutes rest when you heard this 'huge amount of noise'. Don't tell me you study 24/7 unless you're a robot which i think a robot wouldn't mind the noise.
You can try asking ur MP for help or call NEA see which ministry is bigger. Mindef or NEA ?
