'Own-self first nation'? Increase in number of abandoned supermarket trolleys

STOMPer Allan noticed an increasing number of abandoned trolleys at his neighbourhood, and created a caption to accompany this picture of trolleys dumped at a grass patch. He hopes this will give people something to think about.

Says Allan:

"This picture was taken today (Sep 3).

"There are an increasing amount of shopping carts near my neighbourhood, and it has become hard for me not to take notice of this.

"I'm not against people for carting things back to their home. However, I advise people to at least make an effort to bring them back during your next trip to the supermarket.

"I made a sarcastic tagline below, not to criticize but hopefully as something for people to reflect on."

Seriously, if those supermarket really concerned about this they should have do something about it like implementing exchanging your NRIC for a trolley or take actions against those inconsiderate shoppers but they prefer their soft education method in which it is proven to be of no use.

Think they should set up a mini device , using Ez link card to deduct $1 and debit $1 back upon returning

supper market should do something about it stop people from push the trolley beyond certain point and offer free delivery for X amount of purchase. or impose a fine if caught stealing the trolley. I told a staff in NTUC that there is a trolley on the same floor i stay almost a month already the trolley is still there. If the supper market don't do anything to stop people from stealing it then it mean they must be ok with it.
