Bun stall offers 'high-paying job' only to PRs and new citizens

This stall selling man tou (steamed buns) at People's Park Complex is offering what it calls a 'high-paying job', but only if you are a permanent resident or new citizen.

Agree with gibeonite...

If they tell you the salary is only $800/month, you want to accept the job meh? It's because we shun these jobs that's why they have to target the foreigners to fill these gaps!

What is "high-paying job" for the PR's and the new citizens may be considered "low-paying" for the Singaporeans. A $800 per month job may be considered high to the PR's but chicken-feed to the choosy Singaporeans.

whether there's discrimination in this job ad or not.
they can choose the type of employees they wanted.

and we as a consumer like it or not have the right not to patron their shop too :)

ok firstly i'm not defending that stall owner.

this is what i think, maybe the space for that notice is small and limited or the owner is a S'porean and often like to use shortcuts in writing. so the notice may mean singapore citizens instead of new citizens, unless stomper has tried applying for the post from the stall and verified that they are indeed only taking in 'new citizens'.

anyway i wont patron that stall next time anymore i pass by there which i often do pass by for religious items after seeing this discrimination job ads news on stomp.
