STOMPer Jen felt uncomfortable when she saw men doing repair works inside a female toilet, while women were still inside.

She said:

"It happened in the level 3 toilet at Bugis Junction, near Action City, at about 8.15pm on Aug 1.

"I was using the toilet when the guy was standing at the same place where the ladder was, talking to the cleaner and another woman who was queuing up.

"They were trying to replace the light bulb.

"They did not put up a sign and did not wait for all the women who were in the toilet to leave before doing that.

"Singaporean women are so daring nowadays. They saw them repairing, but they still went ahead to use the toilet.

"Personally, I was very disturbed by this. I was trying to use the toilet and I heard the man talking so loudly, and I couldn't finish what I wanted to do (erm 'make big business') because I was very stressed by the man talking.

"I went out to see him talking next to a woman queuing for the toilet. I think the building management is lousy, hiring people like them with no respect to female patrons!

"Male workers are working in the female toilet without closing or informing patrons at Bugis Junction Level 3 female toilet.

"I was using the toilet and all of a sudden, I heard a male talking to a female. I got a big shock when I walked out of my cubicle! I saw a man, and his uniform showed he was from the building management, talking to a female who was queuing up to use the toilet!

"Minutes later, another man came and both of them entered the toilet again to change light bulbs, ignoring stares from the women who wanted to use the toilet and those who just came out from the cubicles!

"We can understand that they were doing their job, but this is outrageous!

"Who would like to come out of a female public toilet to see a man working in the toilet just three steps away from the cubicles?

"They should at least have the courtesy to close the toilet temporary or wait till all the women were out of the toilet before they did their job!"
