What Bugs Me
What has happened to our once lovely East Coast Beach?

STOMPer Suz wonders what has happened to Singapore's most popular beach, East Coast Parkway, after she saw a ton of debris and broken pipes on her walk there.

The STOMPer wrote:

"I went for at walk at East Coast Park on 9 Jul 11. These pictures were taken around 8 - 9am.

"There was lots of debris on the beach.

"What is the brownish stuff that appears on the surface of the pond?

"What pipe is it? Is it broken? Is it meant to be fixed?

"There is a broken manhole cover, near to the broken pipe.

"Just sharing and curious to know the answers to a few of the questions."

It is and has been deplorable for quite some time.
Maybe nparks or NEA should put up floating barriers that traps debris and prevent them from floating onto the beach itself. Its not safe for people walking or playing on the beach.
