A new National Day Parade song 'The Fun Pack', set to the tune of Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance', is raising the hackles of STOMPers.

STOMPer Misstangguo feels that it is "humiliating and disgraceful" to adapt other songs for National Day, while STOMPer takemehome thinks that lines like 'I want a biscuit and I want a sweet' are cheesy and childish.

STOMPer Misstangguo wrote:

"Many are upset that this song can be approved for NDP.

"In the past, no matter how bad the song, it's still made in Singapore.

"This year, it is just a disgrace, especially since this is uploaded on the internet.

"People from other countries will see how 'original' we are.

"Many like myself feel that this is humiliating and disgraceful."

"My friend who attended one of the NDP 2011 combined rehearsals was horrifed by the childish lyrics of this song, which included lines like 'I want a biscuit and I want a sweet, you and me, let's share this treat'.

"This song, titled 'The Fun Pack' song, takes after some lyrics and the tune of Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance'.

"To date it has received quite a bit of flak, and I personally think the lyrics are cheesy and uncreative.

"According to my friend, similar negative sentiments were echoed amongst the crowds even as the 'cheer officials' tried their hardest to rouse everyone.

"Judging by the sheer amount of dislikes on the youtube video and the comments, some of which bordered on disgust: 'Yucks, the NDP committee has hit a new all-time low' and even 'I hope whoever was in charge of the song choices gets the sack, seriously. The songs don't have a single thing that is related to Singapore.'

"I guess this shows that even as the quality and scale of each year's NDP improves, much more could be done about the new NDP songs.

"I too wonder, how come they don't write stuff like 'Home' anymore?"
