Temasek Poly students puff away in lecture, leaving ashes on seats

STOMPer ywc attended a morning lecture which he described was the worst he had ever experienced. Students were smoking inside the room, and they left their cigarette butts and ashes on the seats.

He wrote:

"The TP lecture theatre smells like a cheap motel.

"The worst 9am lecture ever.

"Inconsiderate smokers were smoking inside the lecture theatre (LT 2), leaving their cigarette butts and ashes on the LT seats.

"They even ate inside the LT.

"Now the whole lecture theatre stinks.

"This is the first time I've seen this happen in a lecture; it's normally only the staircase that stinks.

"No idea if the school has done anything.

"As it's term test week, I did not visit the LT after that."

i saw students breaking the plasticky lecture hall seats openly too. they enjoy it, and enjoy the attention they get.

i am sure they have guidelines on smoking. But just guidelines....without fangs, for show only. i always see TP students smoking at the TP bus stops. Just look at the number of cigarette butts at the flower pots. Then again, is it supposed to be TP or some government's departments job? they can blame each other for not doing the job.

it is in fact students from other school.
More and more secondary school students been to TP recently

I seriously think that the society is overly educated. Too many ppl are overly educated for their eventual skill sets they need to serve society and do well. Do we really need to waste so much resources and lowering standards just to make sure we get X number of poly and U grads. Some of these students who have not much interest should just leave school and find something more productive to do.
