What Bugs Me
Can they do that? SCDF officers enter office to snap photos, without warning or notice

STOMPer comdest was bewildered and irritated when these SCDF officers just walked into his company's premises without advance notice, took some photographs, and left without a word.

The STOMPer said:

"These Singapore Civil Defence personally stepped onto private property without any notice or permit, and took photographs.

"Do they have the authority?

"The video is taken from the CCTV footage.

"My colleague saw two SCDF vehicles parked outside our building.

"Before we knew it, they went up to our office's private premises on the 8th floor and snapped photographs, then hurriedly left.

"Just because they are SCDF doesn't mean they don't have to give fair warning and have a permit to do such things."

I agree. Just like police conducting raid or surprise inspection, it would be unsensible to pre-warn the tenants or owners. Even if the police would to be called in, I doubt the scdf will be told off or to leave. I believe they should have some sort of legal authority to carry out such checks in the first place

What the? If the SCDF wants to do surprize inspection for violations, you think they'll inform you so you can remove all the violations?
