Large dogs that apparently belong to a temple in Jurong are causing trouble for the neighbourhood cats, a STOMPer says. The unmuzzled dogs have reportedly attacked a number of cats and nothing is being done to stop them.
The STOMPer hopes that the law requiring dogs to be leashed and muzzled in public can be upheld.
He says:
"These dogs are owned by the the temple at Jurong West St 92.
"How come the dogs are roaming around the neighbourhood unattended?
"These dogs have attacked many cats, causing injuries and even death.
"I called the authorities many times regarding this matter.
"According to the law, a dog has to be under leash control when it is in a public place.
"In addition, some big breed dogs such as the Bull Mastiff, Bull Terrier, Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd (and related crosses), Rottweiler and Perro de Presa Canario must be muzzled when in a public place.
"So where is the law in this?".

you keep saying that the dogs shouldn't be put down, but...
Are you in any position to guarantee us that the dogs won't get put down once action is taken?? I don't think you can.
This is what usually happens...
People complains of stray dogs, action is taken, the so call owners gets fined and most of them just went "missing".....
Like I said:
stray dogs + AVA = taboo for dog lovers
so you can't blame people for flaming you if you choose to post it online.. you ask for it
i used to hav problems of havin community cats that kept on comin to my house n pee... n what i did is POUR VINEGAR OUTSIDE MY HOME ESPECIALLY THE SPOT WHERE THERE USUALLY PEED. i did that for a few days continuously n that stops the cats from comin back eventually. CATS USUALLY HATE THE SMELL OF VINEGAR. or cover ur cars with canvas. OR if u do know if the cat belong to someone n try talkin to the owner bout the problems.
AGAIN ALLOW ME TO SAY THIS.... I AM NOT BEING PREJUDICED AGAINST THE DOGS. I LOVE ANIMALS REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY ARE FOR THEY ARE TOO THE CREATIONS FROM GOD. but being a irresponsible n stubborn owner that made me pissed off.
