Flip flop wearers beware -- these uncovered screws at a bus stop at Marina Bay could give you a nasty wound, as Sharon discovered. She says the screw was sharp enough to penetrate her slipper and injure her foot.
Sharon had this warning for pedestrians there:
"While walking to the bus-stop at Marina Bay this afternoon I got badly hurt by an uncovered screw.
"It went right through my slipper and into the my bottom of my foot.
"The wound was bleeding profusely and I had to rush to the nearest clinic to have a tetanus injection with a bandage. At this stage the doctor has yet to detect if the wound was infected as the screw might have been rusty.
"I have written to the LTA demanding compensation, as it was so painful.
"I strongly feel this is a safety hazard.
"Please keep a lookout for these harmful screws if you happen to pass by this bus stop."
