STOMPer Kenny wanted to compliment the cabby who found his wallet. However, LTA said they couldn't promise whether the 'good service report' would reach the driver as the taxi company was not under them.
The STOMPer wonders why is it so difficult for LTA to convey the compliment to the relevant taxi company.
Kenny says:
"I misplaced my wallet in a yellow top taxi at 2.30 am.
"The driver of cab number SH4102X drove back to my place after 10mins to return it to me.
"As a friendly gesture, I gave him 20 bucks. All was well.
"However, when I called LTA to compliment the cabby, they told me all they could do was to send a report up and "hopefully" the compliment will reach the cabby.
"They said the yellow top taxi company was not under them.
"I want to pay a compliment and it's impossible?
"I am currently waiting for a call from the supervisor to have a better understanding of the situation."
Y compliment a cab driver through LTA ...
Yellow-Top taxis are a collective group of individually-owned taxis in Singapore. They make up only 505 taxis in total (about 5% of the taxi population in Singapore).
please let it go and the details of the driver should have been taken down earleir and dont have to end up here? LTA is trying to be frank with you, is it that hard? maybe they should have kept quiet or you need the driver to acknowledge your compliments?
It is because compliment to taxi company is such a rare case for LTA lor, so when it does happened, they have long forgooten what or how to do lah!
