STOMPer Peh's son found a fingernail in the bun that he was about to bite into. The STOMPer thinks that others should be mindful when shopping at a bread store at Tampines Mall.
Peh said in an email:
"I urge shoppers to exercise caution when purchasing food from Four Leaves in Tampines Mall.
"My family was there on July 4 (Sun), at about 4pm, to purchase some bread.
"On Monday afternoon, my mum broke one of the buns into two, passing both halves to my son for his consumption. Instead of eating the bread right away, my son pulled out a fingernail from one half of the bun, and asked his grandmother what it was.
"My mother was shocked and immediately stopped my son from eating the bread bun altogether. Our other purchases were also put aside.
"I was only informed of this incident when I returned home from work. Naturally, the whole family was appalled by what had happened.
"We have kept the 15mm-long fingernail with us and sent a photo of it to the NEA. It looks like the fingernail was cut using a small nail-cutter, therefore the cut nail is sharper than normal.
"Once again, shoppers, please be mindful of your next visit there."
