What Bugs Me
Train doors won't open, causing confusion among commuters

Commuters on a Circle Line train were left confused this morning (May 13) when alternate doors of the train simply would not open.

STOMPer Kenneth, who was on the train at the time of the incident, said:

"I boarded a Circle Line train from Bishan headed for Marymount, but as it turned back and reached Serangoon, the alternate train doors didn't open, as shown in the picture.

"It left quite a confusion among commuters.

"I got off at Paya Lebar and saw SMRT staff in the train handling the matter."

Over in my country, they have buttons beside each door. The doors towards the back don't usually open unless you press the button. Usually as you'd board the front of the train. Why don't ya just go to another door if it won't open?

Is not the commuters are confused.. Is you are the one who are confused. In this kind of situation, they will jus wait til further announcements from the control station. If is in during peak hours, then you all got no choice but LL wait lor..

So? What's your point here? By telling us how lousy the train system is it? Not happy with the system, go and take bus or take the long route la. U still got a chance to go back to north south line, take towards marina bay and change train at city hall in which you'll take 15 mins. Then from there u transfer to east west line and you proceed to paya lebar since you got off at paya lebar at the circle line. Btw, from bishan to paya lebar circle line, will take you 15 mins. So jus use your initiative la what to do.. Only think one side of the box, not out of the box.. Haizz!!
