The woman, who left this can here, was very inconsiderate for leaving it in the ashtray instead of throwing it into the bin, says STOMPer Wen Hao.
Leaving the can in the ashtray inconveniences the cleaners who have to clear the rubbish, he says.
Furthermore, this could encourage littering as smokers might need to find another place to stub their cigarettes and litter the cigarette butts.
STOMPer Wen Hao says in an email dated March 12:
“The inconsiderate behaviour of certain Singaporeans is getting worse and worse.
“This woman blatantly placed the Coke can, even bothering to fit it snugly into the ashtray.
“I don't understand this common sight in Singapore, when the mouth of the bin is just underneath but they throw their rubbish in the ashtray, inconveniencing the person who has to clear the bin.
“This behaviour results in smokers leaving their cigarette butts in other places!”![]()

Seriously. It's such a small freaking matter! Smokers can stub their cigarettes around the can right? Don't tell me they're not smart enough to do so? Or do you wanna set up another page about that?
Give Singaporeans a break Wen Hao. Maybe you should pay more attention to what's more important and have a life rather than picking over small issues that wasn't even a problem!
It all makes sense now.
The bin hole is definitely big enough for cans, newspapers, water bottles and so on.
