In a response to a STOMPer's entry about shop owners who block walkway with their products, Jurong Town Council has replied that they have advised shop owners to display their merchandise so as not to cause obstruction.

This is Jurong Town Council's reply to the issue:

"We have advised the shop owners at Blk 253 Jurong East St 24 to display their merchandise/goods within the approved outdoor display areas (ODA) so as not to cause obstruction & hinder pedestrian movement.

"We will monitor the situation closely to ensure that they comply with the ODA guidelines so as to maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents."

Hope Jurong Town Council will monitor the situation closely to ensure that the obstruction is cleared. We hope that it is not too long before something happen. TC please give the owner a time frame - about 3 days to clear. There is no point to monitor the situation if it takes months. If in between somebody may get hurt, who is to blame ?

TC, there is no point advising, you need to enforce it
Seems TC are only good @ making excuses when things go wrong instead of thinking the right approach to prevent problems from happening. TC do not stand for Town Council as they only spend their time Taking Cock! Seems TCs are slow at their work, always slacking away until residents get pissed off and complain to the MPs before they are willing to get off their lazy *****s!

I don't understand why the Town Council will only act after all sorts of problems are posted here, don't they do regular checks? And for how long will these ppl who have been advised will listen to TC? It doesn't take long before this area gets crowded again. Not only this post, so many other post are being complained here bcos obviously they have complained to TC before but no actions are carried out. Dear Stomper, please post again after 1 month or so, i would like to know the progress for this case. And others too. OneWorldOneLove
