Another case of Facebook abuse by youths has surfaced. In this latest incident, students from a secondary school in Singapore have apparently set up an account to harass students from a rival school.
STOMPer Richard, who came across the site on Facebook, said:
"Students from Saint Patrick's School are involved in an online flaming that sounded totally ridiculous, just for Katong Covent Girls?
"Surely this is not how we want our teenagers, our future generations to be like.
"The insult of not just an individual but others' schools and nobody taking actions should not be tolerated.
"Where did the manners go?"
We have not used pages from the Facebook account which contain extreme language and racial slurs.

Hm...While I do not agree with the account creator's actions, what can be seen here is the stereotypes people generally have of certain schools. However,I do also see that you guys have no experience of being in a school and scrutinised because of that fact now,do you?

Fryderykhph's right. today, VS's principal gave a speech on the topic during assembly. Though I'm not sure about the details of the speech. Facebook is essentially harmless. But if this falls into some irresponsible and undisciplined people's hands, it could prove disastrous and might even lead to severe repercussions such as death or injury. the St.Patricians have a lot to learn on discipline and social equitte. I am sure that most of the school is innocent but who knows how many students are responsible in creating this group. Also, kindly note that there are many bystanders that are just busy fanning the flames. I would like to urge the responsible St.Patricians to be more mature in their thoughts and I hope that the school will take action against the responsible parties. Finally, I also would like to applaud the Victorians and St.Patricians that were voices of reason within the chaotic fray.

Please. if u actually take a look at the group, u will see that the people who abuse it using foul language and bad manners are from schools that have no concern on the matter, or from st pats themselves. you can see that the vs students try their best to resolve the matter, but get insulted by foul language. to cap it all, it was made entirely for the sake of a girls school by some sec 1 st pats students.

Please... All these are so -.-... I firmly believe this has no need to be posted here. I think this is childish and it is spoiling both schools' image. In fact, we should leave it to them to figure it out and resolve it. I do not think we should step in and get either or even both schools into trouble. I really don't know why it's here since the title is "what bugs me"... Can't you just keep it to yourself?
