What Bugs Me
Compare how baggage is handled in S’pore and Australia

Based on videos sent in by STOMPer Alex and STOMPer Jimmy, Australian ground staff seem to handle baggage carefully while Singapore ground staff seem to throw them around.

In an email to STOMP today (Dec 14), STOMPer Alex says:

“This is how airport ground crew from Virgin Blue in Australia handles luggage.

“Such a big difference from how the Singapore crew does the same thing.

In a post dated Dec 1, STOMPer Jimmy sent in a video and said he was upset to see the way his luggage was thrown onto the transport trolley by Singapore’s airport staff.

Please refer to the pictures and videos to see how Australian ground staff and Singapore ground staff handle baggage differently.

vincikwan oh vincikwan.... why are you still in Melbourne Australia. There must be something that you need from Australia.

Go back to where you come from... er maybe a village or something where there's no public transport. If you need to get from one place to another, you take - 'cart pulled by some laden animals' and where the latte, ice latte all looks and taste the same; all as per your expectations that everything evolves around you.

Australia is not a racist country, but in your country it could be.

And to all.... don't let your expectation build around your opinion.

watch what you say, vincikwan. Not all Australians are racists. Surely for staying in Australia for 4 years you should know why public transports' interval is much longer than those in Singapore. Most people do own cars, and that the distances are much wider than Singapore. I stayed in Perth and buses run at an interval of 15mins and I had no complains as it reaches the stop on time or even early and waits till the stipulated time before moving off. I really appreciate that gesture.

Consider the fact that blue collar workers and white collar workers' earnings are comparable, they do take pride in their work. It is quite a different scene in Asian society. so quit complaining. Thank you.

no wonder they always have a big jam at the australian airports...service is slow and horrible. i have been in australia for 4 years and i totally hate this place...racist, not flexible (got latte, got ice but no ice latte), stupid and public transport (trains come at every 20mins, buses on the weekends come every hour) Compare that. And i m in melbourne, not some rockhampton town!

I have been to many Asian countries Singapore is one of the most gentle in baggage handling. It is your responsibility to inform the check in counter staff that your baggage contain fragile item and they will paste sticker for you and treat with care not grantee by airline though. Why don't you try swinging your luggage for 100 times before you understand why people need to swing the luggage to load/unload. look at 0:14-0:16 carefully, the Aussie staff also throw the baggage.

These people have to bring thousands of bags around, they're not going to care about baggage.

Singapore's airport is among the best in the world. Where does Australia's airport place? And where do you live Alex and Jimmy? With the koalas and kangaroos? Get your ass to Australia if you're comparing the airport standards here.
You're just upset that they are throwing ur baggage like that.
I'm sure you would do off better if you would kindly complain to the company of these workers, instead of embarassing them by posting their pics on Stomp

Don't the bags get thrown all over the conveyor belt, when you check-in and check-out the luggages ?

So why still want to compare ?
