STOMPer Anti rats says Block 288D in Bukit Batok is being infested with rats, which may spread disease.
He said:
"This picture was taken near Blk 288D Bt Batok St 25. On many occasions I saw rats scurrying on the void deck of this block.
"Yesterday one rat was seen scurrying across the road but it was run over by a car and its dead body lay in the middle of the road.
"Rats are common in Singapore and they live everywhere people do.
"It is estimated that rats destroy one-fifth of the food produced every year.
"They spread disease and cause damage to homes and crops.
"The disease leptospirosis or Weil's disease is transmittable to both dogs and humans.
"Nearly every animal can catch leptospirosis including horses, pigs, cats, dogs and even humans, but the rat is immune.
"Leptospirosis can be transmitted through contact with water into which a dog or rat has urinated.
"This disease attacks the liver in both humans and dogs and causes a kind of jaundice."

Lesson to be learned: Shut up. Mother nature knows how to handle animals better than you do.
