STOMPer SP noticed there were well-dressed parents with branded luxury handbags in this long queue outside the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho temple this morning (Aug 2). The queue was for the collection of bursaries meant for students from low-income families, said the STOMPer. In the STOMPer's email: "Sunday morning after sending my girl to Fu Lu Shou Complex for her tuition, my wife and I went to Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho temple for prayers. "We noticed a long queue outside the temple. As we were passing by the queue to enter the temple, we asked the security officer and was told the queue was meant for some scholarship/bursary distribution. "These gracious events are meant for lower family income and students having good academic results. "To our surprise and curiousity, we noticed many parents were wealthily-dressed and carrying luxury brand handbags!"
