More teens are posting their indiscretions in social media without thought of the adverse consequences. A girl created a video teaching her peers how to smoke, while a guy proudly uploaded pictures of his drinking party.
STOMPers FaceBooker and Yong came across the pictures online and wrote in with comments.
STOMPer FaceBooker wrote:
"I found this video on my facebook newsfeed and it was really disturbing to watch as the teen is only 16 years old.
"In addition, she had pictures of her taking shisha and smoking posted up on her facebook account.
"Furthermore, someone commented on the video, asking the teen to remove the video but no actions have been made by the teen.
"Curious teens would've watched this video and tried smoking. I find this teen's actions really inappropriate and I feel embarrassed for her friends that were filmed in the video.
"The government should be more strict about selling cigarettes to underage smokers and enforce the punishments for underage smoking.
"Something needs to be done about this or more similar mistakes such as this will be made in the future, affecting the children of Singapore's living environment."
STOMPer Yong wrote:
"I chanced upon the facebook page of a 16-year-old student from a neighbourhood school in the West.
"I was shocked that he openly drank alcohol and uploaded it on facebook.
"Won't he think about the consequences after doing so? This is disappointing.
"What's more is he began a game of 'taupok' with another male.
"Is this really accepted? Why isn't the school doing anything about such student(s)?
"As a senior of the school, this is a very negative view to show the juniors. What if his friends/juniors follow suit?
"Consuming alcohol at the age of 16 is illegal."
