Kids trample on and destroy plants during walk at Bishan Park

STOMPer Nature is upset to see that the plants on one plot of land at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park have been destroyed after a children's walk that was held there yesterday (July 29).

Said the STOMPer:

"Yesterday (July 29), I was at Bishan-AMK Park for my usual morning walk.

"I reached before 9am and noticed a small plot of land where small, beautiful green plants were once planted had ALL been trampled upon and DIED!!!

"Workers from National Parks took months and had put in alot of effort to water, fertilise and plant them before PM Lee HL officiated the opening of the renovated park.

"Now it's ALL gone because of one event held there!!!

"I was so disappointed and angry when I saw two school kids (from Unity) jumping over that plot of trampled plants a few times.

"In the future, if there's no supervision of such "destroyer of nature" children, perhaps National Parks should reconsider allowing the park to hold such an event there.

@ sleepers - if the plants were ALREADY dead before the event started, National Parks dont u think National Parks would have done something about it BEFORE the event started??? The pictures were taken on that day itself to indicate how those plants were destroyed without NParks knowledge.

@ sleepers - post to stomp if u see owners not picking up after dogs' droppings at the park then! More and more responsible dog owners knows how to be considerate and clear up after their dog. We passed on plastic bags to each other even!!!

I walk my dog at the park there. Even my dog knows NOT to trample or go near those young plants. She often chose the grass patches and she KNOWS without even me instructing her. And here you have these kids DELIBERATELY trampling over them without any hesitation !!

And the irony is that the Organiser, The Singapore Children's Society, "raised a record $480,000 at its annual walk yesterday, despite the less-than-rosy economic outlook", reported by asiaone news.

What's the point of raising so much money for a generation that has no heart for kindness to people, animals, and PLANTS!!!!

There is surely a missing link somewhere .....will the ORGANISER please comment on the lack of supervision of these volunteered children at the park on Sunday?
