What Bugs Me
Would you pay $7.50 for this plate of nasi padang?

STOMPer N feels $7.50 is too steep a price for this meal at a canteen near NUH.

The STOMPer wrote:

"I had lunch at NUH just now afternoon so I went to Kent Ridge building..

"This picture show the food that i bought and it cost $7.50.

"Why the food court sell the food so expensive? This price is not acceptable.

"The price is almost the same as a restaurant."

Chinese always pay more than Mother racial. Think Chinese earn more is it? Boycot and don't patronise them anymore. See if they can still make a living.

Washing of plates, rental, staff all also need money. So you expect them to charge at no profit?

There's many factors always. People need to earn. If you think same price as restaurant, then go restaurant eat. The shop not stopping you.

Also did you ask the price of each item before ordering? If not why blame the shop?

It business mindset "羊毛出在羊身上" highest bid got the space .when they beat high , automatically they will increase to cover up. Want cheaper? Go staff canteen by the roadside or walk further up to Nus science canteen.

its expensive but the fish alone is anywhere from $ 1.50--$3. the paru another 1.50, veggies cost about 50 cents to $1. Rice another 50c...these people dont charge you service charge but its all in anyway....Malay stalls always like tht...agak agak only! dont tell me its not a malay stall...paru must be a malay stall....and many times (i am not muslim) i hve to wait like an idiot while they serve the malays first....I dont patronage malay stalls now...Yes there is racism in spore. Even when you go to their provision stalls ...somwhere in bedok reservoir...they always serve the malays first. And they work so damn slow.

no hard feeling, but every time, my Malay friend and I order the same food from the same stall through separate orders, he always got it cheaper than me.
