Man ties dog to pillar at McDonald's despite 'No Pets' sign

STOMPer whoissham was dining at Mcdonald's when a pet owner tied his pet dog to a pillar there. The dog was aggressive and disturbed many patrons.

Whoissham said:

"I was at the Mcdonald's outlet in Jurong West.

"I was having dinner with my girlfriend and a dog owner tied his dog at one of the pillar and left him there for a good 15 to 20 minutes.

"What's more, this owner tied his dog just in front of the 'No Pets Allowed' sign.

"I gave feedback to the manager but he was too busy tending to customers to solve this issue.

"The dog was barking and disturbing other patrons.

"We shifted to another table in the end because the dog was behaving aggressively."

well, the reason he tied his dog there might be he just want to quickly get his McDonalds take-away. Since there's a no pets allowed sign, it's appropriate for him to leave his dog outside for the moment. I believe that Singapore do need to be more pet friendly - this is not an issue as long as owners are responsible. As to those who do not like pets, that is their personal preference, just as how some may not like students studying at macdonalds etc. Religious reasons? We live in a multi-cultural city, if me having a dog angers you, then the one behaving in an extremist way would be you. There's no problem since we are not letting the dog touch others or lick people. It's your choice if you do not wish to touch pets/dogs.. and it's my choice if I wish to bring my dog with me. Let's each have our own personal space - we are not invading on yours by sharing a public place.

What's the difference between a barking dog and a crying baby?

I think the dog barks due to insecurity rather than aggressive. Anyway dog's owner should heed notice and be sensitive to the people around.
