STOMPer Shalynn was concerned that age would be an issue in her relationship, as her boyfriend Lionel is two years her junior. Lionel managed to prove her wrong with his sincerity.
Shalynn wrote:
"Age is always my concern, and I don't believe that a relationship would work out for me if that guy is younger then me. Lionel is the guy who proved to me that age is not an issue.
"I met Lionel through our common friend and we started off teasing one another whenever we met, then became good friends and buddies and I started to fall in love with him as he is a gentleman and mature thinking guy.
"Things went different on my post birthday party organised by my friend. I remember that day all my guys friends came towards me to chit-chat and take picture with me. But only Lionel sat down there watching me quietly.
"All of a sudden, my friends said they wanted to go out for a while and asked Lionel to stay with me in the KTV room. It became so awkward with just the both of us in the room. Till he shouted: WOULD YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND? I was so stunned that my mind when blank, and when I wanted to reply him, my friends came back with my birthday cake.
"After the celebration, I went home. I messaged Lionel and asked him why all of a sudden he asked me to be his girlfriend, and he replied: I'm sorry, let me think about it.
"I wasn't really bothered by his action. The next day, he asked me out for a movie so we headed to Orchard to catch a movie.
"While we were walking towards the cinema he held my hand and said: 'Would you be my girlfriend? This time it's for real. Trust me I'm not like those guys who play around and I'm serious for you.'
"And I said yes to it. And till now our love is still so strong. And he did it to make me believe that AGE IS NOT AN ISSUE."
