V-Day Love Story 2012
Love Story: I had a crush on my hubby when I was in Primary 2

Theeba developed a crush on Sakthi, the boy who would play soccer across her home. This crush developed into a meaningful relationship that led them to tie the knot.

"Our first date was on the 17th of December 1996, when I was 15 yrs and my husband was 16 yrs old.

"We had almost 12 years of courtship before we tied the knot!

"Actually, Sakthi was a guy I had a crush on when I was in Primary 2 (8 yrs old!).

"I used to see this boy playing soccer with his brothers outside their home, which was opposite mine.

"At that time, I remember thinking to myself – ‘Hey, there’s a small cute boy playing there.’

“Our first encounter was at the at the basketball court opposite our place where he and his friends used to gather to play soccer during the weekends and holidays.

“Actually, at that time he was a very shy guy who wouldn’t even lift his head to look at me when I passed by!

“To my surprise, our relationship actually started off through an argument over the phone, but somehow from then on, our conversations got quite exciting and we really began getting comfortable with each other.

“We even used to communicate through hand signals from the windows of our homes!

“That’s how close our homes were.

“The first time I saw Sakthi, the only thought that came to my mind was that this chap’s quite FINE!

“Well, somehow I’d have to admit this fact about Sakthi: he is definitely is a very attractive person.

“During our ‘getting to know each other’ period, I always thought of Sakthi to be a quiet, shy and reserved person, who wouldn’t actually say much about himself.

“But as time went by, I began to realize that there was something so special about him.

“He was a person with so much charm, charisma and character, which might have gone unnoticed many a time.

“Well, my husband, Sakthi, and I tied the knot on the 7th of November 2008.

“I must say that it was the most wonderful and beautiful day of our lives.

“Courting and loving each other for 12 years just made this special bond between us even stronger as the preparations for the big day went by.

“Our wedding consisted of a church solemnization in the morning, followed by a temple customary wedding in the evening.

“This hectic celebration was then finally rounded of with a splendid dinner reception the next evening.

“Yes, We made it!!

“Till the end we were standing strong, thanks to the wonderful family support that we both had, who made every effort to ensure that it was going to be the best day of our lives.

“And indeed, it was!!

“Sakthi always makes me feel good about myself – he makes me believe in myself and my capabilities.

“There’s a great sense of security being with him.

“He has become part of my life and it’s this strong love and commitment we have for each other that has brought us this far together…. and I hope that by God’s grace it’ll last forever.

“Saying ‘I Do’ at the alter, sealed every aspect of commitment, love and passion that we had for each other.

“7th of November 2011 marked our third wedding anniversary, and nevertheless, it was just as beautiful as it was the very first moment.

“Marriage is a chapter on its own and it may not always seem like the good old courtship days. As for me, it’s a new beginning, a new life, a new journey that I’d never exchange for anything in return.

“I love him, and I always will. And I’m sure he loves me just the same……

“And THAT is our Love Story!!!

“I dreamt of a wedding of elaborate elegance,
A church filled with family and friends.
I asked him what kind of a wedding he wished for,
He said one that would make me his wife.”
