When Theresa Koh's husband asked her to be his girlfriend just a few days to Valentine's Day in 2005, she thought he was trying to make fun of her.
Said Theresa:
"This is our love story and also dedicated to my baobei hubby, whom I have known since secondary 2; year 2002.
"We were introduced each other through my primary school friend during tuition class. We were just normal friends and we got to know more about each other during our ITE life.
"I still remember you asked me to be your girlfriend on 2005, just a few day before Valentine's Day while waiting for the MRT, I thought you just trying to make fun of me. Sounded so unreal as we had already known each other for so long.
"We finally got together on 28 Feb 2005, the love life story we have is so memorable. We are so poor, sharing a plate of rice during our meal, sharing bread together and buying ingredients to cook our own meals.
"We were so so so afraid to lose each other that we have lost all friends and changed our handphone numbers numerous times, and also only allowed each other to go out with no one else.
"And we tied the knot on 26 April 2008. It's been 10 years since we've known each other, and now we have 2 beautiful daughters.
"Things are never easy for us, getting married at an early age of 20, no career no house nothing!!! We have to strive even harder than other people. We have to face money problems, family disagreements and also we had no experience in bringing up children.
"In these 4 years of marriage we have encountered many ups and downs, but it never crosses my mind to scatter everything apart.
"Baobei thanks for everything!!! I can see what you have gone through so far, changing yourself into a better husband and into a better father. I know you've done a lot, and also suffered. But also remember you are not alone, we'll always be here for you.
"Another 1 year plus will be another new chapter for us. Our BTO house will be ready and more happiness and challenges await us. Jia you!!! I know you can do it :)
