Student ignores old man and hogs Reserved Seat on MRT

STOMPer LK was saddened to see a youth on a Reserved Seat who didn't bother giving it up to an elderly commuter in front of him.

The STOMPer wrote:

"I boarded the train from Khatib and caught this student sleeping on the Reserved Seat.

"He may have been drifting in and out of sleep but I think he should have seen the elderly commuter.

"When I alighted at Raffles Place, he was still on the seat.

"It's sad to see a situation like this. You don't see this happening in places like Japan, Korea and Taiwan where the Reserved Seats are always empty."

"I think we should learn from them."

There is always a common courtesy of asking politely for a seat. If the stomper really feel that the elderly needed the seat, please just ask the gentleman if he is fit to let his seat to the elder. Why go all the trouble of taking his pic and post it to defame without giving the poor guy a chance to do the right thing??? Did you ask the guy or not????????

Just by being old doesn't get the priority of seats in public transport.. We give seats to people who NEEDS it more than we do. What if a teenager with a bad spine problem who can't stand for too long takes up the priority seat. Must he give up his seat to some old but healthy person? I personally have got a little back problem and standing too long may strain and hurt my back ALOT but nonetheless, I will still give up my seats to people who needs it more than i do. What i'm trying to get across is that sometimes, you need to look at the "whole picture" as what you see may not be the case.

Hello Mr Stomper you Stomp but you don't even bother to help the old man by asking the guy to wake up and stand to let the old man sit. WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHTS TO EVEN STOMP HUH?!

That old man looks as fit as he can be. He is standing and walking without any help at all.

Sometimes the elderly just refuse to sit even when we get up and offer them the seat.. This student might already have offered his seat to the old man, did you ask him? LOL.
