No eating on train: Who cares? Student munches on ice-cream in MRT

STOMPer Jay spotted this student in uniform eating his ice-cream openly on the MRT, totally disregarding the no-eating rule on trains.

"This boy from a secondary school openly ate his ice-cream in the MRT," reports STOMPer Jay in his email contribution.

Why can't STOMPER Jay just tell the kid what he's doing is wrong instead of posting the photo here without bothering to blur out the face of the kid ? If photos of kids in newspapers are blurred out to somehow "protect their identity" , STOMPER Jay should be doing the same thing too . Don't get me wrong , I'm not siding the kid here but isn't it better to warn the kid instead of shaming him publicly on STOMP ! Yes , it IS wrong of him to eat in the trains but does it actually justify Jay's actions of shaming the kid here ? Think about it .

@cutelyevil

First of all, everyone judge. We humans are social beings and hence, how we appear to others are constantly evaluated (Judged) by others. In fact, you have just judged me as well :D "The kid is definitely wrong in breaking the rule. U, as an adult, is even worse, by judging him." such a simple sentence already shows that my actions have made you label me as "someone even worse than the kid". and labeling others is called judging (i prefer to use evaluating)

Now that i got that out of the way, you first point: yes, parents do teach that but do they follow that? Like my point above, its easy to say but not easy to do. like i already demonstrated above, even you have ended up doing something that you think is "worse than the boy"

your second point: from what i THINK his future will be, he may still go out to be successful, but there is the chance that her may not develop socially as he cannot even follow a simple rule: No eating on the MRT.

They should have published people who were fined as being caught eating or drinking in MRT station and trains, then others will know. Not all view STOMP on this. Looks like the checking is not constantly done, that's why all this started again.
