Ever seen inconsiderate commuters who just refuse to move in to fill up the empty spaces in the centre of the MRT? STOMPer Mich suggests that MRT staff should be deployed to direct them.

The STOMPer said in an email to STOMP today (Mar 16):

"In this busy morning, some people can't even get up onto the mrt!

"And there is such a big hole in the centre!

"MRT staff should seriously be allocated at the MRT stations to direct these inconsiderate people!"

@PhatMama: I guess yours is the gentle approach.

Getting on the train at 8am is no joke, and Im often faced with the same problem. But I find that forcing my way in to the train, leaving a trail for other boarding commuters usually works best for me (I'm on the wrong side of 80kg and used to play competetive rugby, so this approach may not work for everyone).

when you read all the news back, most of the "ugly commuters" are aunties and uncles? why? haiz... hope that the new generation, when they reach "aunty and uncle" age don't become like that...

Best way to handle.. Walk in, say excuse me twice.. No respond, put your feet in and step on the feet of them.. And said " oopps, i am sorry.. Don't mind excuse me.. haaaa...

If kena scold, say i say sorry and excuse me but you didn't move.. So i can't do anything.. haaaaa

before you ppl making sense about moving in the centre, pls check the design of SMART train. A lot of space inside but no handlers!! The passengers rock as train moves. I can understand why sometimes ppl dun want to go inside.
