Ugly Commuters
Foreigners who reek of alcohol sit on MRT floor and block others

These four foreigners who reeked of alcohol were sitting on the MRT floor and blocking the peak hour crowd. They did not bother to make space for passengers when the train was packed.

Said STOMPer Jesssica in an email to STOMP today (Feb 9):

"Four uncivilised men were sitting comfortably on the MRT floor reeking of alcohol despite the huge crowd during peak hour.

"Passengers were irritated by them as they were not considerate enough to give way to people when the train was packed. One of them sitting down even opened an entire newspaper to read.

"Unfortunately, some passengers did not manage to squeeze into the MRT.

"When the train reached Novena station, there was a baby pram waiting to come in but there was not enough space as the four uncivilised men occupied a lot of space. There wasn't enough room for the baby pram to enter.

"An irritated passenger asked them to stand up and be considerate in order for the baby pram to board the train. They stood up but not for long.

"Less than two minutes later, they created their own space again and began to chat among themselves and read the newspaper."

The faces of the foreigners were masked by the contributor.

I think the staff should do something...I ever saw inconsiderate people who do not want to move in to let others board the train during peak hours...perhaps the staff can contact the train driver not to move if everyone not going to cooperate.
