This man not only snatched an elderly man’s seat, he also had the cheek to confront me when I took a picture of him, says STOMPER Jonny.
In an email to STOMP today (Jan 29), the STOMPer says:
“At 6:50am, I was on the MRT train with my dad from Clementi. I was going to Raffles Place and my dad, Bedok. It was crowded.
“My dad is frail. He clutched tightly to the handrail like he was holding on for dear life.
“Near Tiong Bahru station, we heard a ruffle behind us and noticed a lady adjusting herself, signaling she was getting up from the priority seat.
“I alerted my dad and said aloud that a seat is becoming available. The guy standing near us looked at us and started inching closer to the seat.
“My dad understood him and said ‘nevermind, let him have it...’. The very second the woman left, the guy slipped into the seat without showing shame.
“I got really angry, so I took out my iPhone and snapped a picture of him.
“Apparently the girl now sitting next to him was his friend, and told him that she heard a click sound from my phone. Ironically, the guy who so eagerly sat down was even more eager now to get up and confront me on whether I took picture of them!
“Well, if you’re afraid, don't do anything that you will regret later.”

I have seen lots of these but even we complain all we want- this will go on. I feel tat mrt operator or goverment should allow elderly to take these seats by asking and by showing their elderly mrt card. Or they have this right since it is labelled. Everyone agree?
