STOMPer Esther saw a man who squatted against the glass panel near the train door during the evening peak hour while reading his newspaper and blocking the door.
Said Esther:
"Man squats by the glass panel near the door during peak hour, preventing people from boarding the train!
"A man was squatting against the panel on the train near the door when the train was very crowded (7pm).
"He squeezed beside the person already standing there and at the next stop, when another passenger alighted, he promptly squatted down and opened his newspaper wide, hindering quite a few passengers from entering the train and having a comfortable ride.
"Some passengers were visibly annoyed but he made no effort to move, and stayed at the spot from Raffles Place all the way to Bedok!
"It is truly disappointing to see the lack of civic-mindedness in Singaporeans on the public transport system!
"I hope that we will be more aware of our surroundings and aim to be as generous as we can be."
