SMRT staff should know better than to bring drinks on train
STOMPer WhatAreRulesFor spotted these SMRT staff with drinks on a train travelling along the Circle Line yesterday evening (May 22). The STOMPer wonders why the staff are allowed to break the 'no food and drinks' rule.
Said the STOMPer:
"We were on a train along the Circle Line heading towards Dhoby Ghaut at 8.36pm between Botanic Gardens and Caldecott when we spotted two SMRT staff with cups of soft drinks in their hands.
"I thought no food and drinks are allowed in stations or on trains?
"So why are the staff doing it?"

So if I am a baker and I want ppl to know how good my cake look & smell, I can bring in and hold my cake, walk around the train cabin and it is ok as I am not eating it, right? No?

Once I was scolded by smrt staff for just holding a 500ml capped bottle. His is a drink with a flimsy cover. Even if he is not drinking while on the train he is obviously not working. There is differentiation between groceries and a drink that can spill anytime
