The first person Siti opens up to is her mum. Wise, open-minded and understanding, Siti's mother, Rosita strives to do her best when it comes to educating and nurturing her daughter.
Siti wrote:
"Mama is very intelligent. I admire her for what she knows and for being so cool about it.
"Whenever I ask her anything, she always beams with the right answer. (I don't know how she does it).
"She often challenges my values and my convictions - making sure that I keep the right values close to my heart always, rid the things that destroy both the body, mind and spirit.
"When I started growing up and paying more attention to my physical form, my mom would always highlight what she thinks is good about me. She would always comment on how well I carry myself and the way I quickly warm up with people.
"She has always been fair to me, telling me what and where to improve on.
"Always pushing me to read so I would be able to expand on my vocabulary.
"I remember telling her about the guys I meet and the guys that pique some interest in me. I would never get a chiding for that.
"As a matter of fact, she appreciates my honesty and openness and would always remind me to stay on the safe and clean side.
"She was firm enough to push back on things that might lead to wrong decisions and is always able to help me understand whenever she wants to drive home a point.
"She will not say "NO" right to my face when asked about her opinion on a certain guy, but, she will always tells me to think about things first, and not be swayed by emotions alone.
"The mind always takes a big part of every decision that I make, and up till now, I still value and follow this piece of advice.
"The wisdom that my mom shares with me is simply priceless. These are the very things that I, in turn, shall share with my daughters...specially now that they are quickly growing up and are about to be independent.
"So, why do I love my mom?
1. She was God's gift to me. From her, I learnt everything that I needed to survive in this challenging world.
2. She taught me the real meaning of love (outside of emotions and beyond words) forgiveness, patience and grace.
3. She was a mother who took care of all our needs.
4. She was a friend who took time to listen whether I had a happy or sad story to tell.
5. She was my teacher, my mentor and my one & only coach : teaching me what really matters in this world.
I can only thank God for my mom because without her, I would not have been brought out into this world and enjoy the life that i know lead.

"It was out of pure love, selflessness and sacrifice.
"I love you mama. You are the best. You will always be."
