Only first aid kit found in fire extinguisher compartment on board bus

STOMPer MaggieLim was concerned to see only a first aid kit in the fire extinguisher compartment on board a bus.

She said:

"Are SBS safety requirements met?

"I was on bus 165 (SBS 2690 x) when I noticed that the fire extinguisher was not in its designated place.

"Evidently, from the picture, there was only a first aid kit and not a fire extinguisher on this bus.

"I believe I do not have to reiterate the importance of a fire extinguisher on a bus.

"Do we have to wait for another crisis or accident before checks will be in place?

"Is this what is expected of SBS with the constant increase in fare prices which are not in line with measures made to ensure passengers' safety?

"Who can we direct this to? Who will look into this matter? Who can we depend on to ensure our safety?"

If you look closely when u board the bus u will notice there's a FIRE EXTINGUISHER near the fare box (left of the driver).

why don't you complain about "NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN TAXIS" when there are so much more taxis in singapore which definitely have more accidents due to their number. stomper, it's not an obligation for public transport to have a fire extinguisher. you are complaining because of the reduction of safety measures. SBS does not owe you an explaination for this. (:
