A man purchased walnuts from an unscrupulous street vendor in Zhengzhou city in Henan on Feb 15, only to find the 'nuts' inside were actually chunks of concrete rubble. Glue had been used to seal the husk shut around the fake nut.
Street vendors had apparently cracked the thinner-shelled nuts cleanly in half and removed the meat inside. A piece of rubble was then wrapped in paper to deaden the noise and placed into the shell, before the two halves were glued back together for sale.

"To be honest, I think this scam was so unbelievably sneaky no one could have guessed what was in store, but it doesn't hurt to be extra careful right?
