A woman was reportedly chased out of the train by commuters after combing her armpit hair openly at about 9.45pm on Feb 15.
It was later revealed, however, that this story is probably just a hoax.
According to the online report, the woman in question, who was named 'Lin Xi Lin', was on her way to meet her client when she was chased out by a group of elderly women who were on their way to Chinatown. The elderly women used their umbrellas to hit Xi Lin while one of them dragged her out of the train by grabbing hold of her armpit hair.
One of the elderly women, Teh Soo Kim explained that they decided to confront Xi Lin and chase her off the train as they felt that it was unsightly for her to comb her armpit hair in public.
Xi Lin ran away after the alleged attack.
