Danny Ng, the man whose family was seen being attacked by staff from I-City's KFC outlet in a video that has since gone viral on the internet, has denied that he had provoked staff into assaulting him.
In an interview circulated by malaysiakini.tv, he claimed that staff had turned violent unprovoked, in response to comments made online that he had started the fight by making offensive comments. In the interview, it was also claimed that the staff were the ones who had used abusive language first, leading to one of their number threatening Mr Ng and his family while they were at the counter, armed with a metal bar.
Fearing for her husband's life, Mr Ng's wife had tried to drag him away from the scene, but he had re-entered the outlet to speak to the manager, which was when he was attacked.

"This is the interview that the man involved in the KFC assault gave to media in Malaysia.
"I'm not sure who to believe here, but one thing is certain.
"It is probably a wise choice not to go to Malaysia until this whole silly incident blows over. Who knows you might get attacked while such sentiments are rife over the Causeway.
"That means no tasty Malaysian KFC fix for us for the time-being!"
