Cute or freakish? Meet Japan's 'fang girls'

While the Japanese have been drawing animated characters with protruding fangs for years, some real-life actresses and singers have taken things to a whole new level, with fang-shaped implants referred to as 'yaeba'.

These dental 'enhancements' are now offered by select Japanese cosmetic dentists, and consist of tooth-caps glued over the user's original enamel.

"I thought many Japanese girls already have bad teeth?

"Doesn't this just make things worse? It seems odd to me that Japanese girls are into introducing a flaw into their looks, whereas the rest of the world is just trying to look as flawless as possible."

Hahah! I used to have them. The dentist called them Canine Teeth (Like a wolf/dog), and it hurts your inner portion of your lips. That's the reason for braces.
