STOMPer Azmi came across an article online which claims that scientists in Canada have apparently found a cure for cancer -- but it seems no one has taken notice.
The online article reports that researchers at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada found a simple cure for cancer a week ago, but major pharmaceutical companies are not interested.
Their method employs dichloroacetate (DCA), which is currently used to treat metabolic disorders -- and does not have side effects or long term effects. The drug also does not require a patent, which makes it widely and cheaply available.
The way it works is that it triggers the mitochondria, natural cancer fighting human cells, and reactivates apoptosis, which means the fully functioning mitochondria can once again die. The usual way is through glycolysis, which is less effective and could seed new tumours.
According to the article, it seems there is little interest in investing in this research as the DCA method cannot be patented. It urges that independent laboratories start producing the drug and do more research to confirm these findings.
Said the STOMPer:
"Scientists in Canada cure cancer. Yet no one takes notice. How true?
"I stumbled upon a friend's posting on the web.
"Can the local authorities or our local universities do a separate study to verify these findings? Or even the Health Sciences Authority (HSA)?"
true, they can earn more from selling other medicine :(
the world is not rotten.
