STOMPer sibeisiao was travelling along Boon Lay Way when the STOMPer saw the aftermath of an accident between a taxi and a black Honda Civic.
Wrote the STOMPer in an email (Jan 26):
"Serious accident on Boon Lay Way near Tradehub21.
"At around 2pm, I was heading back home on a bus. I saw 3 lanes had shrunk to a 1 lane road.
"It was an accident involving a taxi and a black Honda Civic (old model).
"The road is very straight (with no dangerous bends and blind spots), and there should not be any accident there.
"I presume that either one of them was speeding and the other failed to give way or keep a lookout for oncoming traffic.
"Glass had shattered and tyres were flattened. Even the front part of the car was almost completely destroyed.
"In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to remind all of our road users that it is very dangerous to speed, even on a very straight road.
"We would not know when and where an accident would happen.
"Safety comes first! Driving is a joy, not a thrill. I wish everyone a Happy New Year ahead."
A Police spokesperson said:
"Police were informed of an accident at about 1.05pm at Boon Lay Way.
"Upon Police's arrival, it was established to be an accident between a car, a lorry and a taxi.
"The taxi driver and the car driver were conveyed conscious to NUH.
"The lorry driver was unhurt.
"Police investigations are ongoing."
